New Titles Hitting the Library Next Week!

Thanks to our fabulous PTA we have some new titles coming to the library.  Here are a few of those titles:
Violet Raines Almost Got Struck by Lighting, The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, The Report Card, Hatching Magic, There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom, Is That a Sick Cat in Your Backpack?, Sounder (Newbery Medal Winner) and The Girl, The Queen, and The Castle.  We have 25 new books all thanks to our generous PTA.

Our brilliant students here at Summitview are writing haiku poems in hopes of winning the $100 prize for our library.  We are anxious to get some more comfy seating in our reading areas.  The deadline for poems is March 7th.  Let me share some of the amazing work going on in the library during noon recess.

As for that Cat in the Hat, he has a message:

I do not like it here in jail, I wish some readers would post my bail. I need these kids to read and read. For reading is a kindly deed.  I do not like it here in jail, the air I breathe is getting stale.  Please release me, read a book.  Please read to get me off the hook.  I do not like it here in jail, I wish some readers would post my bail.

We are SO close to a prison break.  We need about 20 readers to reach our goal of 200 kids caught reading.  Get those books out and read!

Our 4th graders have been learning to use the Dewey Decimal system in preparation for middle school.  It's been a bit confusing but they are getting it. We will continue to work on this the rest of the school year.

Have a great Valentine's Day!
