Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day

Our beloved Cat in the hat was joined by 200+ readers here at Summitview and they had a prison break.  He is once again FREE and back up on the wall where he belongs.  Great job kids.  Thank you for rescuing Cat just in time to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.  We will be joining thousands of kids in schools across the country in celebrating Read Across America on Wednesday, March 2nd.  We will have some special guests coming to read to our kiddos throughout the day.  Some of those guests include Mayor Micah Cawley, one of our Yakima County Sheriffs, a soldier serving in our Armed Forces, a soccer player training with the Olympic Development Team in Seattle, and some of our local Firefighters.

March 2nd is also PaJaMa DaY!

BOOK FAIR
Start saving those pennies...the Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner.  It will be held during Conference week which is March 21-25.

NATIONAL POETRY DIGEST CONTEST DEADLINE IS MARCH 7TH!
Be sure to get your Haiku poems turned in to me, here in the library.  Let's show them how bright we Summitview Stars can shine!
